Happy Friday! Long weekends are the best and I hope you all get to enjoy it!
For me, having husband home an extra day makes a huge difference. But lets get started before my kiddo’s wake up from their nap!
This is a great recipe for the holiday if you are looking for something healthy, delicious and easy to cook.
You will need: beef sirloin, tomatoes, red bell peppers, zucchinis, onion, garlic, soy sauce, black and white sesame seeds, salt and pepper.
On a frying pan, add chopped onions and fresh minced garlic and a teaspoon with olive oil. Fry the onions and garlic until the onions are soft and the garlic starts to brown. If you like to brown the onions, you should add them first otherwise the garlic will burn.
Add the beef sirloin ( I like to cut it into small pieces), soy sauce, and salt and pepper to taste. Soy sauce is usually salty, unless you buy low sodium, so keep it in mind when adding the salt. Cook the meat for a about 5 min covered, so the juices don’t evaporate.
Add the chopped zucchini and bell pepper and cook for a couple minutes, just enough to soften them. Lastly, add the chopped tomatoes and cook for another 2 min.
Once the vegetables are cooked, add black and white sesame seeds. I like to mix the sesame seeds to incorporate their taste better, and I usually cook it for a minute or so.
Tip: add fresh minced ginger when you are cooking the meat. It adds a lot of flavor!
It goes really well with white rice or rice noodles. Enjoy it! 🙂
Note: I usually don’t add precise quantities (because I don’t really know.. I am used to just add and taste as I go). Exception for baking – I will always add precise measurements in this case (at least will try my best!)
