When I first woke up today I didn’t expect to be a good day. I had a long night with the baby. She is teething (the first tooth is just pointing out) and she has a cold. You can imagine my mood – woke at 3AM, 5AM, got up at 6AM… Didn’t look like it was going to be a good day at all.
We watched Frozen with J (it was around 7AM), then my husband really wanted to go out for a walk. Although I would prefer to sink on my couch all day, I agreed to go out.
Before we left, husband made an amazing breakfast: baked eggs on sauteed arugula. This is a recipe from the book ‘Plenty’ by Yotam Ottolenghi. It is one of my favorite breakfast egg dishes. The day just started to get better!
I got the kids ready, we packed the backpack with some snacks and headed to the Habitat, Mass Audubon not too far from our place. I am so happy my husband pushed me to get out of the house. It was a beautiful day and the Autumn colors were stunning. We had a nice walk with the family, got some fresh air and J enjoyed running around (with her ‘blanky’).
Kids are sleeping now, hopefully baby feels better by tomorrow.
Nothing better than good food, love and nature to make it a good day! 🙂
