It’s been a warm November so far! It’s scary how warm it’s been especially if I think about climate change and all its implications. On a good note tough, we went for a nice hike this morning with the girls. The weather was perfect, the colors have changed from bright yellow/red to brown and most trees did not have leaves anymore. The bright blue sky and the sunlight shining through the trees provided us with a stunning view.

I don’t know when spiders usually hatch, but apparently because of the weather variations, a bunch of them hatched in the last couple of days. I learned that in a unpleasant way: while sitting on a wood log, I realized our backpack was covered with little black spiders. They were very small, but it kind of freaked me out especially when I found a few of them on my coat.

A nice woman that works there told us that unusually for this time of year, there was a lot of insect activity and she told us to check the children for ticks just in case. Interesting to see how the little variations on the climate is impacting Nature around here. Luckily, so far the impacts are not devastating for us, but lets do our best to keep it that way! 🙂

The kids had a great time walking through the woods. J was happy picking up sticks and pine cones and baby L was smiling and cooing at the trees and at everyone that walked by us.

There is something about fresh air, we were all relaxed and ready for a nap when we got home. Well, if only we could actually nap… J suddenly got a burst of energy and didn’t nap at all. But overall, it was a good day and the kids are both sleeping now – hopefully through the night!

I hope you are having a nice weekend too!
